Knut Sundbeck tries to ingratiate himself with an emperor penguin, while another member of the expedition gets on a seal's bad side. Footage of dogsledding gives way to grizzled crew members dancing and fooling around on deck. The cumbersome process of getting provisions and the sled dogs aboard is also documented. Proceedings conclude with cavorting penguins and a short look at the Japanese ship Kainan Maru. This short film was presumably presented by Amundsen himself on a tour or tours for English-speaking audiences. Some disturbing imagery.
